Default Interior lighting

I have installed interior led lights under my dash. My power source is my fuse box under the hood. There is auxiliary wiring that allows you to tap into the dome lights so they sync with the dome lights. I connected the wiring to the dome lights. My problem is that the led lights come on with the dome light only when the car is running and I want them to come on whenever I unlock the door. Do I need to change the fuse it's plugged into? I currently have it plugged into an accessory empty fuse.

I wired mine directly to the dome lights.

That's what I did too but don't you need to have a source for power too?

The dome light power wire is the power source...
