Default Poor MPG STLL, STILL, STILL

With 5200 miles on my '06 R/T RWD intown driving still yeilds only 14.5 - 15 MPG and believe me I've been driving with a very light foot trying to improve MPG. My '93 Seville V8 is getting 17.9MPG. I thought 13 years of technology improvements would have made this a no brainer. Yes the Caddy doesent make 340HP but still 13 years to improve MPG. Looks like the cool vanilla will hit the market this spring. Hope gas prices stay under $2.50/ until it get rid of it. By the way the dealer said everything is working properly>

It's all weight, the truck weight alot more and has the arodynamics of a brick. 15 MPG city is what I get and I think thats what Dodge clams too.

Don't feel bad. I have 2800 miles on my 05 and and checked my mileage last week and it was 9.7 MPG. This is all around town driving though and I generally have a pretty heavy foot.

You're getting the right amount of mileage with that R/T. 15 is pretty high for these trucks. My 99 only got 12-13 in town and maybe 16 on the highway.

What'd your R/T run for anyway? I haven't seen a price tag on one yet and Dodge.com hasn't posted a price.

If you lower your Dakota it should reduce drag, thus giving you better gas milage. Also get a bed cover. The bed cover will eliminate the drag caused by air pushing against the tailgate. Check out K&N airfilters as well.
