Default 2006 Dodge Dakota 3.7L o2 sensor1/1

Hello guys, my name is Jon. I am trying to replace my bank 1 sensor 1 o2, but the connector is wedged behind trans cooler line at bell housing of trans. pulled on wire & can almost get connector out, but seems tight. how can iI access connector so I can replace it.

I think there is a clip on it you have to release/remove before the lock will release.

Hi Jon, I'm actually having the same issue. I noticed you posted several years ago, I was wondering if you figured it out? The response that was given before didn't make sense to me. It sounds like he was telling you how to undo the plug/harness rather than how to access it. Did I get that right, or was he giving you legit information? If he did please explain. Thank you.

If it is sensor 1 on Bank 1, that would be the upper driver side sensor. Those lines are running to the fuel tank. That sensor is a nightmare to get to. There is not a lot of slack coming from the main wiring harness to that connector. The connector should be held in place by a plastic push in fastener. If you can reach it, try gently pulling the fastener straight out. That should get you a bit more wire to work with. If you do manage to get it out, try to tuck it back in. I just had to replace a melted connector that was hanging too close to the cat.
