Default Key/Ignition issue

So bought a 2006 Dakota.

It came with just one key with no FOB so I ordered 2 new FOBs to program. I noticed before I ordered them that the key would come out even while the car is running. So I got the new FOBs and tried to program them and it doesn't seem to work. I took it to shop and they couldn't do it. They said its because something is broke with the ignition thus the key will come out at anytime.

Anyone have a idea what could be the issue? I'd like to be able to use the FOB and eventually install a remote start. But if this key coming out all is a problem how would I fix that?

Thank in advance,
