Shopping for a 2008-2011 by VIN
Hello,
Well, I've owned and driven every generation Dakota there is, and I'm in the market to buy another. This time, I want the latest 2008-up year with the 4.7 V8, Crew Cab, 4WD, and towing group package. Since initial shopping takes place online, where I'm searching an expansive area around me, I'd like to be able to find what I'm looking for by VIN as well. Especially when it comes to the tow package part. Is there a way to determine this? It seems when I do searches of VINs on trucks for sale, some sites seems to know when special option packages are ordered with a truck? Is there a chart somewhere that has all the option codes and how does this all work when getting into these details?
Thanks!

Here is a simple way to get any Dodge vehicle build sheet.
1. Click on this link below, it will open up a new tab.
2. Copy the VIN from the truck you're looking to buy, and add it to the end of the line of that new window that opened up. Then press Enter.
This will give you the build sheet of the truck, first Standard Equipment will be listed, followed by Optional Equipment.
Now, don't get excited on anything that says Heavy Duty, we all have that same BS listed on our Build Sheets.
