I would stay away from that 'thing', and seriously avoid that seller. You need a yearly subscription to even use it.

Nothing good to see there...

These are clones with hacked software that avoids "registration and subscription fees". At least thats how I understand it. I have bought from this site (not this particular seller) many times over the years with no issues. The biggest worry is if your knockoff Chinese goods get seized by customs, which they are not liable for.

Sorry to bring up a old post but has anyone purchased this device mentioned above? Does it work? Disable drl? Maybe even program keys?

Since you got no response, I'd say search online for info on Micropod II clone, maybe someone on this forum or others have used it and posted results.

how would that micropod even work? its just an interface. You would need to connect to to a server to use it.

I know nothing about the witech micropod, but I'd think you lose those functions provided by the server. If it's completely dependent on the server, then it's worthless to us DIY'rs. I've purchased 2 Chinese clone tools for 2 cars - GM and VW. Both came with hacked software and a warning to not allow a network connection. So I've got an old laptop I keep in the garage to use with these modules. I don't have access to updates for software or modules, tsbs, etc. I have not needed this and have been able to diagnose all my problems so far, changed some convenience items, and have programmed some keys.

Without these Chinese counterfeits, I would have sold both these vehicles a long time ago. I wouldn't have been able to afford the dealer diagnostic fees for all the problems I've had with these 2. My Dakota has been very reliable compared to these 2, and I haven't had the need for something like this for it. A generic scanner has done the trick so far.
