Default Disabling drls on 09 Dakota

I just bought an 09 Dakota with daytime running lights. Was wondering if anyone could lend some assistance on how to disable the drls, it is much appreciated. Not sure where the fuse is,and waiting on a service manual. Thanks for any and all help.

You would need a dealer to disable the DRLs, and I seriously doubt you'll find one to do it for you. Pulling a fuse won't do it.

Welcome aboard.

I've never looked into FCA diagnostics. Is there some kind of chinese clone he could buy? Might be worth it for some.

I've got the Tech 2 clone for GM vehicles which has already paid for itself when looking at diagnostic fees.

That's funny! I'm wishing I could figure out a way to turn on the DRLs without a trip to the stealership and someone else wants to turn them off.

A cheap tuner or clone that would work either way would be nice. I haven't heard of one, though. And, the insurance savings aren't enough to justify the labor that the stealership would charge.

I have a BullyDog tuner on my Dakota and this is one of the body functions you can change. Turn on or off the DRL.

Can also change exit lighting time, or lights blinking with lock/unlock, speedometer correction, rev limit, etc...

A trip to the dealer would be cheaper but it does come with tunes and you can change these settings whenever you feel like it.

Interesting...I thought they only came with tuning settings. I suppose it would give you the option to play with some of those other settings and see what you liked. Which model do you have? Or, is there only one that works on the Dakota?

Looked around a little and found this unit. Not bad for dealer level diagnostics.
