Default 05 Dakota key fob?

So this may sound like a silly question but ill ask it anyways, I own a 05 Dakota slt, it didn't come with a key fob. I know I have to have it specially programmed however I'm wondering, what does the fob look like? Is it separate from the key or is it built into the key? Reason I ask is I don't have a fob (Clearly) and I've had my alarm go off having me run to the truck to put the key into the ignition to get the alarm to go off, so was thinking on taking a chance on a key programmer off eBay (seller said I can return if it doesn't work) and getting a keyfob and see if I can program one...

The key fob is one piece, but you need two working key fobs to program them. Dealer or capable locksmith can program them though. Keys are either black or gray (chipped or not), depending on if your truck has the Sentry Key or not. The link below shows the key that we use, not recommending that seller, only posted as an example.

Well, the only key I have is a grey key and I think it reads sentry on it, so guessing that's chipped making it oh so much more fun getting spare keys cut... Yep only have the one key!

Wonder what locksmiths use to program?
