Default transmission ratcheting/clicking sound then clunk into reverse

A lot of the time, but not all of the time, when I put the transmission into reverse I hear a ratcheting sound and then the transmission clunks into gear. I've read on this forum and others that the ratcheting sound is normal and just solenoids doing their thing. I've also read about a software update thru the dealer which mitigates this behavior. Looking for any input from the collective forum on what the deal is and/or any solutions...

Well, you can first try and drain & fill the fluid, and replace the filter with an OEM filter, (Or filters depending on which trans that you have).

See if that helps.

I don't have any noises that you describe going on.
