Is it possible to replace the power steering lines without pulling the rack out?

 

Possible? Of course!

Can you do it? That depends. I've done just about everything on my truck. I could not get the lines off of the rack. I didn't have an 18mm Flare Nut Wrench, and laying on my back on a cold asphalt driveway, I couldn't get anything else in there to get on the flare nut. The garage local to my office swapped out my return line for 102 Canuckistan Pesos. I think that this is one of those things that is MUCH easier up on a lift!
