Hi all,

New guy here, I've done a little digging through this forum and the Internet in general but need a little more help. The question seems to have come up before but dies out before a good answer is to be had. I have a 2011 Dakota and I'm looking at doing a off road bumper with winch mount. After crawling over the net I found WAM bumpers (along with the all horror stories of pervious incarnations of the company along with promises of them actually being different that didn't quite convince me I suppose) and the DIY Move bumpers. What interested me was the fact that Move only lists 2005-2011 as a single option so presumably the 08 facelift doesn't merit a different kit from them? Now I've also seen some other options that say they only fit 05-07. So my question is, I understand that the grill shape is a little different (in fact I think I can see the gaps are a bit wider on a move bumper I saw installed on a 08+ truck vs earlier 3rd gen) but would a bumper marketed for 05-07 fit on my 2011? Are the mounting locations the same? Anybody tried this before and have pictures?

The top two layers of the front bumper (Fascia & Bumper Face support) are different between the 05-07 and 08-11 Dakota. Those two layers mount up to the Front Fascia support, which is the same from 05-11. The mounting of the bumpers are the same, but different layers on top.

So I can only assume that those DIY bumpers have different assembly directions for the two different bumpers.
But no, an 05-07 bumper will not fit on an 08-11 Dakota.
