I need to know what transmission's fit my 2005 Dakota v6 4x4? I was told that the only ones that will fit are another 2005 and half of the 2006. I know it's a 42rle and there's a lot of different vehicles with the same tranny. Is there something special about the 2005 v6??? Someone please help me out.

 

Any 05-11 Dakota 42RLE transmission (from a 4wd) should be fine, but this thread shows that more options are out there.

FYI:
The 42RLE trans will only be found in a Dakota with a 3.7 engine. The 4.7 Dakota is paired with a 545RFE transmission.
