Holly Terminator X Max for HEMI swap??
I have a 2003 Dakota Quad with a 3.9L. I've had this truck for over 15yrs and its finally time for a HEMI swap. The engine is out of my 2014 Ram 1500. One of the lifter shaved the camshaft at 204k so I swapped in a junk yard hemi into the ram and now have a spare hemi to clean and build up for the Dakota. My wife doesnt know it is all part of my brilliant plan that is 15 years in the making. *insert evil laugh here*
Anyway, I have been lightly researching wiring for the hemi to dakota. I contacted hotwire and they were a huge help. Last night I stumbled on Holly's Terminator X Max system. Very interested in the simplicity of the system and its software. I am only worried about mating the system into critical components of the dakota. This will be my weekend fun truck so it wont be a daily driver. I am also okay with making a custom mount for Holly's 7.5" screen instead of using stock guages.
Has anyone done more research on this system and did you see any issues that deterred you? I did see their system doesnt work with VVT engines...which my engine has. I know comp cams has a phase limiter kit to kill the VVT but I just found that last night and need to research it more.
I do not have to worry about passing emissions inspections.
