K&N: 63 series?
Hi.
I noticed that K&N nows offers a 63 series kit for the 2006 dakota. It rates just shy of a 9hp gain, versus only a 6hp gain for the 77 series. Also, it's about $100 cheaper. Does anyone have any info or thoughts on the 63 series versus the 77 series?
Thanks.

Well I'm gonna be buying the 63 series in a week or two.
I'm going with that, well, because it's got the better power gain compared to the 77 series. Also, I think it looks better.
The reason why is probably because it's plastic tubing instead of metal, meaning cooler intake temps & more power.

Mine came today. Installation wasnt bad but was a little much more than i expected it to be (Like the damn insulator straps not on the heatshield, come on that couldnt of been done at the factory!?) but still pretty simple, except for my fear of breaking the air temp sensor. It sounds great and I know im gonna waste a ton of gas this week but o well. The throttle response is competely diffrent now, all i need is exhaust to even her out.
well i also got my k&n last night i love it application was pretty easy but i agree with trest they could have put the seal on it at the factory but i have the V8 i love the way it sounds and the way the throttle response is
