Default 2005 Dodge Dakota P1128, P1129 - NOTHING WORKS

Hello everyone. I got a 2005 Dodge Dakota V8 Magnum Quad Cab that has come back with P1128 & P1129. My mechanic said that P0420 also came out, but that is for the Catalytic Convertor. The problem isn't with the Catalytic Convertor, he has assured me. He believes the other codes are causing that one to trip.

He has replaced the O2 sensors, upsteam and downstream, he check my fuel pump, that was fine, a new computer has already been put in from previous owner, MAP sensor was replaced already, he has done everything he says!

What's going on? Something with the engine? That what he suspects.

The truck itself was well taken care of, it drives great! I run it and it drives awesome. One time, I pulled out of my driveway and went down the street to the stop sign and it died. I started it right back up with no problem and it never shut off again.

Not sure what's going on, but I really want to fix this. Any suggestions?

Make sure he used OEM Mopar sensors, aftermarket sensors simply do not work in our trucks, especially Bosch sensors, those are pure garbage.

Also, check out this thread.

This one too, Ram issue, 5.7 engine.

Do you know a good place to purchase those types of sensors?

How about the CPS sensor? Does that one have to be OEM Mopar?

The O2 sensors can be found on Amazon, it's where I ordered from. Rockauto is a good source also.
  • 56028998AB Left, Before Catalyst
  • 56028998AB Right, Before Catalyst ---> (Parts Manual shows 56028999AB for this sensor position.) (I believe both work here)
  • 56028999AB Left, After Catalyst
  • 56028998AB Right, After Catalyst
Any sensor or resistor should be replaced with OEM parts. There are a lot of threads that conclude with a Mopar sensor being the final fix.

I noticed all over the internet, there are, "Right side before Catalyst" "Left side after catalyst"

Does that matter? Or can I buy the same four Mopar O2 sensors on Amazon and replace them all?

Thanks!

Left is Drivers side.

So I am looking to replace the left and right AFTER the CAT.

I found these two links for both of them, do you agree with these two?

2005-2007 Mopar Oxygen Sensor, Left Side, After Catalyst 56028999AB | Mopar Factory Parts

2005-2007 Mopar Oxygen Sensor, Right Side, Before Catalyst 56028998AB | Mopar Factory Parts

In the 2nd link, it says before CAT. I'm having trouble finding the Right Side AFTER CAT.

998 is right side, after cat. Listed above is what works correctly, and what we've been following here.

Below is from the 06 Dakota Parts Manual, EVO=4.7 engine. (One difference from what I posted above.)

Yes, but they charge shipping too. Get them shipped for free from Amazon.
.

Mopar 56028999AB Oxygen Sensor

Mopar 56028998AB Oxygen Sensor

EDIT: Don't know why the links do not work, search on Amazon though.
