shifter tow/haul button

2006 dakota 3.7, While going down the highway tow/haul light will go on or off randomly and I can feel the transmission responding, I wouldn't know about trans temp, but the engine temp is staying normal. It does it whether I'm towing or not The dakota only has 69,000 miles on it

Moving this to third gen dakota section.....
Need to plug in with a scanner, see what trans temp is doing, or if the PCM is seeing the button pushed..... Really thin wires for the button, so, not really unusual for them to break, and short....
