Default LED headlight bulbs

I used some in my 2008 from Aux Beam and they would stay on (although dim) after I would shut the lights off for 30-60 seconds. It was bad enough that I took them out. Now I'm looking for some hopefully better ones for my 2011 Dakota. Does anyone have any recommendations for bulbs that Won't have issues? I tried Aux Beams flicker harnesses but that didn't make any difference at all.

Stock replacements. LED's are low power draw, but, does that even really matter? a 50 watt bulb is a 50 watt bulb. Why introduce more headaches?

The only reason that I can see for LEDs is that they would be brighter than halogens. But, they also tend to scatter light more, making them less focused and potentially less effective since the Dakota's housings are built for halogens. This would be particularly true of the headlights, probably less of a concern for taillights and turn signals. But, if you decide to use LEDs, you'll need them to be CANBUS compatible. Even then and after seeing a number of comments about it on this forum and the internet, it seems that it can still be a crap-shoot - working for some people and not others.

You have reflector housings, The light may be brighter but it's the same just with a different bulb. With reflectors you want a bulb you can rotate, Most LED bulbs put out light in one direction so you need to rotate it to work with your housing. You may want to check what voltage you have on the positive wire going to the bulbs, Led's will flicker or stay partially on with just a small amount of voltage. IF you want to keep up to what is on the road today a clear lens housing with a retrofitted LED or Bi-Xenon projector is the way to go.

After much research, I have gone with Auxbeam LED's in my replacement housings. I have to say that there bulbs are much improved over some I used in my 2008 DAK. I had removed those bulbs, because like some say they just scattered the light pattern and had no real control of beam's, that and when you went into Hi-Beams there wasn't much of a difference. I have purchased their latest offering and the difference is truly night and day. The pattern in now controllable and adjustable. There is a difference in Hi/Low beams and while I did experience low level flicker when the lights were turned off, a call to Auxbeam got the issue corrected with their Can-Bus decoders that they provided free of charge. I have tried every halogen bulb under the sun but just can't beat the light and clarity of the Auxbeam LED's.

I have the exact same issue with my LED replacement headlight bulbs that I bought on Amazon. When I turn on my headlights they're nice and Bright .But for some reason when I park the vehicle and I turn off the headlights - they stay on dimmly lit with a fast flicker effect for about 60 seconds and then auto turn off.. I'm not sure why that happens or how to stop it? But it's been that way for about 2 years now and I haven't had any issues although it can be a bit annoying when you're trying to not be seen or want your lights off completely lol . Anyone know a way to get them to shut off instantly using the OEM headlight switch? It is not too much trouble to fix the issue I'd like to other than that I would just leave it the way it is.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, you would need CanBus compatible bulbs.

I recommend getting a new set of the Auxbeam canbus bulbs and if you still have a flicker issue they will send you the canbus adapters free. Their new bulbs are way better than even 2 yr old bulbs, you can get then at Amazon.
