Have someone hold the key in the crank position while you knock the starter body with a hammer.

If that works, here is how to replace the starter solenoid contacts. Easy job and better than AM starters which last a few years if you're lucky...

I ordered an AM starter. It's sub-zero weather these days and I don't have a garage, so things are on hold for now.

Default new starter

Temps got above freezing last Wednesday so crawled under and swapped out the starter. that seems to have solved the starting problem. Now I can start working on why it won't idle. Getting a P0508 code, Idle Air Control System Circuit Low. I broke the clip off the wire connector, so I'm hoping it's just that it's not getting a good connection. I have a new connector on order.

All good now. Purring like a kitten. Until it doesn't. One day at a time.
