For some reason, I really like that outline!

Would you just paint the top surface, or peel the lamps apart/mask/pant?

BTW, Night_Runner, do you have pics of your headlights?

upon request...you can visit my fquick and select my dakota or the hawk and get info on both and pictures....just click the sig, thats what its there for....here is apic...i can take some close ups later..im gunna go play some vball with this beautiful 80 deg weather

Thanks, glad you like them. Just wanted to try to cover up that grey and get a different look.
If painting them, Iwould paint them on the outside with a few coats and clear or have a hardener used in the paint if a body shop did it.
The tape I used is "3M scotch plastic ", it is avilable in different colors and cost about $10 for the variety pack. So for $10 and 20 minutes you can try it out and hide that gray, if you don't like it, it is easily removed. You will have plenty on a roll for practice or repairs. I cut three pieces starting from the top and used a razor blade to match where the pieces met at the corners. I'm not sure if you could make the bends using a heat gun?
If my truck was black I would def go with the night runner lights from the dealer...they look sweet with the black. If anyone puts those ona red truckI would love to see pics.
