Default CD Player Skipping

I have an 05 QC with the 6 disc CD. I got the truck in November, but do not use the CD player very much. This past weekend, we went on a short (300 mi.) road trip, and I noticed that the player would periodically skip. It did the same thing with all 6 discs in the player. I had never noticed this before this weekend. Anybody else ever hear of, or experience, this problem. Thanks.

Skipping on both new and burned CDs. I have continued to play the same CDs since my original post, but have not had a re-occurrence. The only thing different was that we were running the A/C on the road trip. I am wondering if the CDs/CD player get unusually cold when running the A/C because if the placement of the A/C vents. I will do some additional experimenting and post my findings.

usually CD players will only kip from being too HOT. It can get too hot reguardless of AC running as the vents dont really pass or aim near the player. I didnt originally read your post about how it was more of a road trip they were skipping on but i might guess that was the case that as you were listneing the combo of motor/laser for an extended period of time on the cd player got too hot and caused some skipping.
