Dealer are not responsible for tires unless there an authorized tire dealer by the tire manf. Anyone can sell tires, its not that hard. We sell tons of diffrent tires, why? cause we get them from local tire stores and offer the customer options outside of our stock so they can get th ebest deal. Most dealers are not autho tire centers and can not actually warranty the tires. Wanna blame someone? blame the manf for not supporting warranty on stock vehiecle tires.

and michelins are worth every dollar. They last forever and are one solid piece so no blow out issues.

I feel for you, man. What a ridiculous hassle for you. A brand new truck should not act that way...period and the dealer should fix it.
It's experiences like yours that force people to shop other brands.

Anyways, I dropped mine off at the dealer this morning. I checked last night and I have the 8.25 axle. I'll keep the board posted.

Airborne82,
I never saw a copy of the actual TSB. I did, however notice the problem shortly after buying the truck. I made arrangements and took it to the dealer. They ordered my parts and said they'd call when the parts dept. received them. Which they did about two weeks later. I took it in over the Chrismas holiday. I am looking at the invoice for the repairs done. They referenced TSB #05-004-05. They replaced the brake shoes and hardware in the rear, turned the front rotors and even road force balanced the tires. This was ALL covered FREE of charge. There was one minor problem. Two tires were bad also. You see, my problem was two fold. I had a vibration under braking, and a vibration above 60mph. I confirmed the braking issue at a low speed by pulling the handle and applying the parking brake (forces vehicle to use the rear shoes to stop...worked well BTW as it enhanced the lurch at very low speeds). I told this to the dealer to help make them believe there in fact WAS a problem. D.C. after being called directly by me refused to warranty the tires...said it was Goodyear who was responsible for that part. I was pretty upset. The dealer met me half way on the tires. Of course by this time, my Dak had WELL over 5,00 miles on it. I drive it for my job, so miles rack up kinda quickly. They did, however strongly urge me to take the tire issue up w/Goodyear. Honestly, after my experience and the fact that they even sell tires but would not cover them made me decide not to pursue it anymore as I was pretty disgusted about the whole tire issue. I did actually think the dealer did an o.k. job helping with the tire cost. I LOVE the truck. I had a Gen 2 Dak (01 4x4 Sport CC). My new one is the same basically option wise except being an SLT(although it is built quite a bit better than my 01). It has the v8, 545RFE, locking rear axle, 3:55 and is the 9.25. I know this because it is documented in the glove box and on the window sticker it had originally. And man is it loaded...right down to the tinted windows front and rear. . When I wear it out I'll most likely buy yet another, but I will DEMAND new tires at the time I take delivery...Probably Michelins. This is not the first Goodyear issue I've had. Yeah, Michelins are steep but they are well worth the money. I had them on my 01. I hope this all helps.

I've had all four tired replaced already. Of course they replaced them with Badyears er....I mean Goodyears! Where in the hell is quality control these days!!!!!

Default TSB work is complete

I got the truck back.

The axles and brakes were fixed in about 5 hours time. The dealer treated me well during the whole process. The job took ~5 hours and the truck seems to be OK. I will reserve judgement for a few days, but it does seem like the problem is fixed,

Thanks for the link to Alldata. Just took delivery on an 05 Dakota CC Laramie - 70 miles on the odometer - great truck so far, not seen any of the problems I've read about on this forum...
