Default Speaker Box

I know the only real box that seems to be made for the QC is the MTX Thunderform. I know its not specifically for the '05 or '06, but according to others it will fit. My question has anyone used other truck boxes in the back behind the seats? I'm considering something for the QC and was looking at truck boxes that might fit back there like the thunderform. Otherwise its going to have to be somthing that sits in the seat or on the floor that I can remove now and then. Any ideas or comments

the only other solution ive heard of is to build your own, which isn't that hard given you have the right tools, a bit of MDF and a little understanding of geometry and volume.

I think I'm going to go with a 8" bazooka tube on the back floor. Anyone know of a good one or deal out there?

Hey shaggy,
Don't do the Bazooka tube. You will hate yourself and that tube. Use the MTX Proform, A JL 8 or 10W3, Tang Band 8, Dayton 8, RE 8, Kicker S8L5 or Memphis 8. Mount them under the rear seat. Or build a box to fit between the center console and rear seats giving up the rear cup holders. Just don't waste your money on Bazooka. All the subs I listed will handle small sealed enclosures(.5cf or less). All will have around a 150w max rms except the 8L5 which handles approx 300 rms. IMHO I think you could buy a way better peforming sub for what you'll spend on the Bazooka tube.

Good luck which ever direction you go. And as long as you're cool with it thats all that counts.

I was under the impression there isn't enough room under the back seats to put subs. I've been looking at different boxes to see if I could fit something in there, but I don't think it will. Now giveing up the cup holders isn't a problem. Just have to figure out what I can make to fit there. I have 2 kids that ride back there all the time so I was just trying to come up with a good solution. The MTX proform is perfect, yet I just can't see spending that much money on it. I was look at the measurments of it. I might be able to buy a truck box and fit it back there for a lot less. I don't know lots to look at.

Between the center console and the rear seats is probably the easiest way to go. You're looking at a box that is about 10"w by 10-11"deep by 10-12" tall. You can go as small as .3cf depending on which 8" sub you go with. You can put an 8" under a seat but may have to put spacers in to raise the seats an inch or two. Since you have kids have the sub down firing leaving 2-3" between the floor and the sub.
