2005 Dakota defects
I just discovered the DodgeForum site, and was amazed to read about similar frustrations that other owners have had with their new Dakota's. My '05 V6 began to shudder and vibrate within the first 80 miles of ownership. I took it back to the dealer and was then told about the TSB. There were so many owners in my region with the same problem that, the parts were backordered ( new axle, brakes ). I didn't want to wait so I demanded that the dealer take the V6 8.25 axle vehicle back, and I traded up to an SLT V8 with the 9.25 axle. This new truck is much better, though the fit and finish is subpar. I just got it back from the Dodge body shop where it sat for two days while they straightened the bed, bumper, and replaced interior panels that didn't fit quite right. I like the performance of the truck, but when I consider what i paid for it, I wish that I had looked at a Toyota Tundra or a Nissan Frontier. I have friends that own both those brands and they haven't had any quality control issues.

BTW I have a 05 SLT 4.7 4X4 tow pkg & auto everthing and now have 15K on mine & it runs great & I Love it,I wish you the best w/ you new truck.
