3.7L V6 redline?
ORIGINAL: Drakkon
well i know its not good, but for fun i got mine up to 110 on the freeway (yay for flat straight AZ Tucson/phoenix route) and it bounced at ~5000 RPM, didnt really have a way of checking it exactly as eyes were on the road and the blond chick in the v6 mustang i was chasing
So I would say 5000 would be about as far as i would push it.

Like someone said, just put in it 1st gear and take it up till it bounces.
I actually had my 01 to just under six thousand...more than once. I even kept it till 100,000 miles when I traded it on my 05. It might have rev'd a bit higher but I believe it not to be much as it was starting to stumble. This engine seems to like the revs. I have to believe it was a WELL thought out design.
FYI.....I bought my wife a 2005 Certifed Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 last night. It has the 3.7v6. The tach redlines at 5800-5900 rpm. This might shed some light on your question. I'm still sure both or rather all three of these engines are equipped with electronic rev limiters. You pretty much couldn't over-rev one. It would simply reach its predetermined limit.

I can say in the rain I've done a rolling burnout at 7k rpms and it just sent it and I was only at a 1/4 throttle on a completely stock 08 1500 with the 3.7L v6
