Default looking for a wire diagram to hook plug for trailer lights on a 05

I have a 05 dakaota with out the tow package and a 3.7. It just has the receiver built in the bumper. But I can not find a trailer light plug or a diagram of what wires to plug into. Any info would be great.

thanks

I reread your post and I now believe what you are asking for is a diagram of the Dodge to tell you what wire is what. Correct? The only thing I can think of here is to get some help from a dealer on it.

Perhaps someone else can shed a little light on it.

You get it figured out? I wired mine with the cheap $7 wiring tow harness and bought a bracket mount to give it a factory look. Here is what I did... Take the left taillight off and unplug the wiring harness. Find you a decent ground for the wiring harness (I had already located a spot under the truck, I later went back and cleaned up the excess).

Now have someone hit the brakes, turn on the lights, etc. You know what's what on the trailer wiring kit (should be on the back of the package) so just strip the wire back far enough to make contact with the "contacts" in the harness you unpluged from the taillight. Write down what colors match... Do the same thing for your right turn signal but chase that wire back across the frame of the truck so you can keep your aftermarket tow wiring together and neat, not split and going in opposite directions... I did find it easier to drop the spare so you can access the top of the rear cross member of the frame to splice into the right turn signal.

I then had some left over wire loom that I used to make it look nice and neat...

I'll try to get the wire colors for you tomorrow and some pics if you still need them?
