Window Tinting?
So I just set up an appointment at a window tinting place for getting 35% done on the front two windows. How do you think that will look?
Anyone done 35% on the fronts yet? I have seen 20% and it looked too dark for me. Eventually I will darken the rears to about 10% of 5% dunno about that yet though.

If you get 5% tint on the back windows then the 35% will look pretty good. Factory or no tint though then 35% isnt going to really be too much darker, but noticable yes it'll be darker. Should look alright though. I have 5% on my back 3 windows and it looks pretty sweet, but left the front ones alone, IMO different levels of tint on a car make it look cheap, unless its a darker color vehicle like black or something.
my only answer is I put 35% on the frt windows on one of my trucks once. never again, it was a waste of money. I'll never put anything but 20% on the frt doors again. I feel as though if I am going to pay to have the windows tinted it's going to look like they are tinted.

Here in Georgia we have ridiculous tint laws. The shop that came highly recommend to me was "by the book" so I had no option but 35% on the front, I left the factory on the rear windows (it's a quad cab and I think it's 20 something?) and they put 5% across the back window.
Now, had I had the option to match the front and rear windows and then 5% on the back window then that's what I would have done. I too was concerned about it looking cheap and patched together but I was pleasantly surprised.

First off....tint is illegal on the side windows here in Michigan, as I'm sure you're aware Frenchy. Though shops do the tint, they make you sign a waiver.
(I had 3 tickets for it when I had my '02 Grand Am GT)
Second...The factory tint in the rear is 20%. If you get 20% on the side windows....it's not gonna match the rear, it'll be a little darker looking than the factory tint since the side windows from the factory have a very very light tint to them.
But 20% is a good looking tint & easy to see thru as well.
I'd personally get 35% or something light just so that I wouldn't get pulled over. 20% is pretty dark and could get you pulled over easily, and then you'd have to spend the money to get it taken off and redone again.
You could play it safer with 35% even though I think 20% looks better....your call though.
And the darker you go in the rear (back windows).....the worse it makes your side (driver & passenger) tinted windows look to a cop---like darker. From the wrong angle....it'll make your windows look totally blacked out & you'll get busted right away.
I know from experience.
