Default A Drop In K&N Air Filter Questions&Concerns!!!

2005 Dakota 3.7 V6 I just put in a drop in K&N airfilter and it seemed to me like it didnt want to fit right so i put the the old one back in and the lid on the old filter sat up also ofcourse with the clamps off, but not as much as the new K&N, then i made sure everything was good then i clamped it down and it seems like it sealed good and the top of the filter housing is tight so what im getting at is got a little paranoid but not really, cause i read this warning at the bottom and it said if you basically dont follow the instructions each time you install a filter you could damage your engine, so i dont know what that message is all about, and i know it doesnt take a scientist to install a filter, its just you would hate to mess up a engine on a new truck. IT DOES SEEM TO HAVE MORE PICKUP AND ACCELERATION BETTER THAN THE STOCK FILTER SO THATS A GOOD THING HUH LOL!!!

Just make sure you install the gasket as per instructions, and it will seal properly

it's up to you on the reseach thing, for the filter foam gasket,it mounts on the inside bottom part of the filterbox to ensure a better seal from top to bottom.

My truck is an 05 SLT 4.7 V8

Good luck.
