Level Kit Installed!
I finally found a brand new Performance Acc. levelling kit out on the web.
This is the third leveling kit I have ever installed and I found it about the same as the others in terms of difficulty. I did one side at a time in the garage. Just your basic tools, cheap coil spring compressor and factory jack. I'll spare you the details; my methods were definately not OSHA approved.
For anyone thinking of installing one I will pass on a couple tips that made things go a bit faster. Go ahead and disconnect the swaybar before jacking the truck up. The directions state to disconnect the steering link. I just backed the nut out about 3/4" and one hit of the hammer and the link dropped. This gave me the play I needed to line everything back up. A pry-bar stuck in the coils and over the upper A-arm made re-connecting to the spindle a breeze.
Now the look... Fantastic!!! Even with my crappy factory tires (245/70R16) it looks great. It's storming here pretty bad so it was a short test drive but everything fealt good and I could not tell a difference over factory. You do notice your sitting up a bit more.
I'm bascially building my own version of the 2wd TRX. I already have the anti-slip differential so I just want to add the tow hooks and find some tires. BTW, any suggestions on tires for a prerunner type setup?
I'll have some pics real soon!

great job . i installed the leveling shakles on my 2005 dak this weekend also. but mine was to lower the rear not raise the frt. like the way that factory tire tuck up there. nicer looking now. you dont see that big gap between top of tire and fender well
Where did you get your leveling shakle kit, part #, cost, etc. I have not been able to locate it for the 05 Dak.

I would like to see some pics of your truck afterwards. I am interested in raising the front also. Where did you get your kit from, and how much did you raise it? I have only found one kit that raised the front 2" and was about 70 bucks.
Also considering doing the front on my '05 v6 but want to see pix of full side view before doing so. Please post soon.
