Default How are your nerf/sidestep bars attached??

Hey guys I got myself some nerf bars from summit racing. there polished stainless and were very cheap cause there kinda no name brand. Only thing is, they do not have hardware that mounts to the frame rail, it has brackets that hook up to the body bolts, that hold the actual cab and bed to the frame. Do any of you guys have that setup? It nearly makes alignment impossible and also leaves them feeling pretty weak. How do the stock ones go on? I hope its not like this.

I've had Westin's step bars on my last two Dodge trucks, my '94 Ram p/u and my current '05 Dak. They attached to both trucks the same way: provided new body bolts to fasten the front and rear brackets on both sides. Don't throw out your oem bolts in case you want to remove the step bars at some future time(I don't know why you would want to). Never had a problem-always rock solid.

my full size were westin also make sure you have the left for the left and right for the right. i noticed that when i had the wrong side on they were off alot. same thing unbolt the body bolts and install new hard wear. place were i bought mine wanted 75.00 install fee. but with a little time and patiance you will be able to mount them, granted all the hardware is there

cool. my new body bolts seem to be a bit to long, and get tight before the bolt head snugs....I COULD use washers...but still..

Reply to 01dodge. Click on this link: http://www.autoanything.com/nerf-bar...0A2068499.aspx Model#26-2800 chrome over stainless(Platinum Series)is what I have in my '05, and Model#26-2805 black over stainless. I don't why you are having a problem finding them, just enter either of the above model numbers preceded by the brand name(Westin) in the address field and hit GO. They are offered at a lot accessories sites.
