Default Help a member out... (a crazy one at that)

I'm looking to lower my truck a little. And Rory told me to remove my overload spring. First off how would I remove them, and secondly, I never have anything in my bed, so how much would that reduce the weight capability of the bed? Thanks...

removing your overload spring dose nothing. i installed the spring tech 1.75 lowering shakles on my 05. now the truck sits level. real simple install took 2.5 hours for me. if you go this route, get new bolts before you start. just incase of a mishap. bought the kit of of ebay for 55.00. its alot easrier to do than raising the frt. also by removing that load spring, if you ever had to tow a trailer or car your back end would sag causing the front of the truck to wander. kit comes fully with instructions or you can download them from the web site

You are crazy Frenchy...LOL

(just playin' man)

I had those rear lowering shackles for sale a couple months ago for only $40 or $45 SHIPPED...remember??

They sell for $68 SHIPPED off ebay:

Those would be a good start.....they're super super easy to install (unbolt stock & then bolt these in--they're easy to get to in the back) and then see how it looks. If you don't like them then take them off & buy Rory's lowering kit.

Now that summer is here, I kind of wish I would've kept them & put them on but oh well.

Yaya, I remember. Shhhh.

I think I may just buy Rory's system if I can find a price for it.

I would seriously try the shackles man.....$68 to level it out....can't beat that, and there's little to no (hard) work involved

If you buy a full lowering kit....a lot more work & then you're gonna need an alignment
