Alright, what gives??? (mpg?!?!)
I have the 4.7 w/5 spd auto and average 17.6 on my normal commute. About 60 miles round trip of mostly level road. Highway at 60 she will consistently do around 21.5mpg. What kills my mileage is being stuck in traffic. Not kind to the mpg. And at 70 my rpms never go above 2000. And the gauge in the roof is accurate to within 1/10th mpg below what you are actually getting. Only mods are K&N dropin and 3" pipe w/Flowmaster super 40. Overall not bad for a 6,500lb truck!

What in the hell? How come everyones RPMs are significantly lower than mine? I run 2000 RPMs at like 58mph. I have the 3.55s and a v8 with 6spd manual in club cab form.
I never realized how heavy these trucks were til I looked at Dodges site after reading ur comment. THATS INSANE! :-\ These things are hogs... Oh well I guess.

Frenchy....
Maybe you've been driving along in 4th gear this whole time and not hitting 5th or 6th.....it's ALLLLL the way to the far lower right hand corner (left of reverse)...LOL
J/K
What gears do you have? 3.55 or 3.92? (the higher the gear the lower the highway mileage)
With my 4.10's at about 70, I'm turing 2,300 RPMs (if I remember right)
With my 3.55 (old gears) it used to be at about 2,000 RPMs (if I remember right)
On my last tank, I drove all city & I got 19.5 MPG...I was shocked! The gears pay off in the city (they do the work instead of the motor when taking off)
On the freeway/city driving it's about 16.5 MPG

Something to remember about the whole mpg thing. That sticker slapped on by Dodge at the factory is an "average" based on the CAFE standards. Also remember that vehicles are tested in a controlled environment under optimal conditions. Don't believe they are tested under real world conditions then those numbers reported to the Fed's! If we were really interested in great mpg we would all be driving Toyota's or Honda's instead of the beautiful beast we do. JMO

I have the 3.55s. I would think with the RPMs I'm turning I'm going the 3.92s.
I sitll don't get why EVERYONE has lower RPM levels than me. :'(
I wouldn't mind running 2000 RPMs at getting 21mpg on the highway, but I run about 2300 RPMS at 62, and I get 18.4ish, NOW if I were running about 1800 like everyone else seems to run, I would be getting like 22 - 23 mpg....
