Default throttle body, or gears

So I'm looking for a new upgrade, both are about the same price, just wondering which one would be more beneficial right now. I do plan on eventually doing both, just need some advice on which one I should do now. I currently have the 3.55 gears, loking to go to 3.92 or 4.10. I would like a good mix on the highway and city. Right now I run 1800 rpms @ 65mph.

well you have the 68 mm tb now. most you can go is 70 mm any more and you would be wasting money. but if you have the 65 mm and went to the 70 mm you would noticed a big difference. as far as gears go i have the 3.55 also and have no trouble cause of the v8. i think the 4.10 would be to much but the 3.92 would be the best bet. if you go with bigger tires and a lift the 4.10 would be good. but leaving it stock 3.92

Dan from the fastman said I have the 65mm, also he said anything bigger than a 68mm would be a waste. Do you know of anyone with a 3rd gen that has an aftermarket throttle body. I would like to hear what they have to say about the benefits. I plan on getting the 3.92 motive gears, but a want a locker as well. I tend to squeal my tires when I really don't want to and it seems to everyone that I am trying to show off or something. Believe me I am not, I know I only have the V6![&:]

Hey White26golf

What rear end do you have in your truck? the 8.25" or the 9"?

My truck has the 3.21 gears with the standard rear end 8.25. I might be persuaded into buying your 3.55's when you swap out!

Will I have to get a reflash for my speedometer to be calibrated correctly?

Mike

I have the 8.25 rear end. No, you will not need to reflash your pcm. As far as my gears go, it might be around Aug. before I get ready to chage them ($$$$ you know). I have decided to go with the 4.10 gears because as from what I have read, I would not see a big jump from 3.55 to 3.92. Same thing for you, you might want to look into 3.92 gears, unless you just want 3.55. www.jawsgear.net is a place I have found Motive gears up to 4.56, all for 180 bucks.
