Anyone having problems with the latch opening the center console/armrest? My 2005 dakota quad bought in november 2005 almost can't even open the console/armrest now. I opened up the latch mechanism and it appears that it's poor design. The plastic latch is getting scored/worn out pushing the metal lock mechanism open. Anyone have this happen?

Wasup guys i was having the same problem too and some others so i told the dealership about the center counsel button sticking and causing trouble so they took it apart, cleaned and lubed it up and now it works really good it's under warranty, so take it in and let them take care of it.

Hey everyone,

I decided to go ahead & lube the latch up myself. I used a dab of bearing grease and all is working much better now.

W D Forty sucks, that stuff is good for breaking parts loose not lubricating duh!!!

 

A graphite or silicone lubricant will be fine for that.

 

if your latch is sticking than w d forty will brake it loose
