major problem with 05 dak
i just encountered my first major problem and dodge is going to replace it, FLAT TIRE. road hazard caused the tire to blow. something cut through the tread and steel bands.im glad for the warrenty. he he he now i can honestly say 05 dak is a P.O.S.
Dude it's just a tire thats not a major problem, chrysler doesnt have any thing to do with tires and what do you think is going to happen when you think your truck is a tank and you run over big chunks in the road, so now you come to a conclusion that the dakota is a P.O.S. because of tire failure, oh know my blue xenon's failed my truck is a piece.
my dak is awsome just everyone keeps haveing trouble with theres so i thought i would vent. also i have the roadside hazard thing for my tires. under normal wear i have to replace them but if they are damaged buy other obstacules in the road then they are covered.
I thought you were just messing, sometimes people do complain about silly things. I do think these tires suck tho, break loose to easy. I have never had a vehicle with OEM tires I was happy with, not even my M3.
next summer i am looking into upgrading rims and tires. what something nice and different for rims and a set of h rated street tires

My battle has just begun as far as these POS goodyear wrangler tires are concerned! I had a vibration problem which turned out to be a tire with a flat side on it so it was change for a "new tire" yet this one also vibrated along with the others and yes the rims turned out to be fine after having a road force balance to make sure the rims were in good shape. IMO it's the POS goodyear wrangler tires that come with the truck from the factory that are the problem. In the end I ended up having to purchase some michelin LTX tires along with a road force balance it "seems to have solved the problem" and now rides smooth at highway speeds. Now comes the battle to get compensated for the POS goodyear wrangler tires that have less than 9,000 miles on them. Discount Tire is the one that recommended I change to michelin being that the manager had the same type of vibration problem with a dakota also. I have the factory Mag aluminum wheels by the way. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as far as getting compensated or credit for the goodyear wrangers that I now have sitting in my garage. Any takers? Probably not! I also got the dance around by my local dodge dealer and this is the first and last dodge truck that I will purchase. I have noticed the brakes shuddering when I come off the highway offramp so I guess my problems have only started so I will look into the TSB for the brakes and hopefully it will solve that problem if not I may need to take legal action. If it's not one problem it's another with this dakota that I purchased in Aug 05! I seemed to have better luck with Chevy's. You are not alone in the dissapointed with dodge department.
You know that is when I notice my brakes shuddering the most also, when I come off the highway offramp and have to slow down really quick. I am having this TSB worked on next monday(supposed to be today, but I overslept!). I only notice the shuddering every once in a while other than that. But it can always turn into a bigger problem.
