Default Cruise Control and Saying Hi...

First post on here. Been lurking for a week or so. Just bought an 06 ST CC. 3.7 and 2WD. I've search a few posts on adding cruise control. Found the part I was looking for through moparpart.com. Price looks good, but am wondering about the dealership part of the deal. For anyone who's done this, how much should I expect to pay for their part and how long does it take? Also, how easy to install, etc. Thanks, in advance and I love the site...

you would want the dealership to install so its covered by warranty - probobly cost a good $200-300 to install through them though as its a tedious process.
Will take a good part of a day to do, possibly two if its your first time doing a install with as much wiring as this would entail.
Really I'd just suck it up and take it as a loss for skimping out on buying a truck without cruise control, for the ammount i'd imagine you'd spend to get this done in the long run i dont imagine it would save ya that much.

Well, not the responses I expected so far...After looking at the thread below, I was under the impression that the install was quite easy. The cruise control from moparpart.com is only $200.

As for buying the truck without the cruise option, I went with what my dealer had in stock. The truck had everything else that I wanted. I was told I could add cruise on for a minimal cost to purchase. So far, that seems accurate. Anyone with any ACTUAL experience installing one of these? Thanks in advance...

It couldn't be any easier...........all wiring is already in place, just remove the steering wheel cover via screws in the rear, remove the dummy black plastic covers, plug the existing wires into the new switches and reinstall. Under hood, screw servo down to existing bosses on r/side front of wheelhouse, route servo cable around to throttle body and use existing hole to snap it into. Servo wires are already there too. Instructions are in the kit. Did my 05 about a year ago, works perfect. Dealer has to turn on with starscan. (mine did it for nothing, takes about 30 seconds!)

Can you tell me exactly what kit you got for your 05 and where you got it? I would have done it earlier, but got mixed info on which kit and not very positive feedback about doing it in this post at first. Thanks in advance...
