V6 To V8 physical comparison
I'm tring to find out how different some of the parts on the Dakota are at the intake and exhast.
Can anyone post pictures of the under the hood of the V8 around the throttle body and the factory air cleaner? If you could measure the size of the throttlebody inlet it would be apreciated?
I think at least as far as the intake goes manufactueres are taking advantage of the V6 owners and charging more. I came to that conclusion when looking at airaid intakes and they list the same tube for the V6 and the V7 but yet looking at the tube alone says it only fits the V8. Anyhow long story short I what to see if their is a difference for the 05 intake and exhast because 4.7 parts are cheaper than the 3.7 parts.

I will tell you, that most likely it is close to the same. The 04s were the same, two of my cousins had dakotas, one a 4.7 CC RWD, the other a 3.7 QC 4x4, and most of the parts looked to be identical
Well the engines should look almost exactly the same...the 3.7 is the 4.7 with 2 cylinders missing. im thinking the TB might be a little smaller w/ the V6 than the V8, not sure though.

I had a theroy that the tb was physically the same outside size with different internal millings. If the guy you mention could offer some insight on weather or not he had to mod anything to make it fit it would make my day.
