Default Chrome fuel cover & A (K&N)?

I just got my first chrome part for my new Dakota. A oem chrome fuel door. I was thinking how easy it would be for some one at Walmart to remove it with a 4mm wrench. Am I being paranoid? I was thinking about drilling out one of the allen screws. My luck it would just **** them off and run a key down the side. Wish one of the attaching screws would have been a T30 torx screw like the stock ones. Took a while for me to find one of those.

While I'm typing, I was thinking about ordering a K&N cold air intake. How loud are they? Do you really hear them when just driving around town? Ive convinced the wife on some flow master's just didnt want to over do the sound by adding the K&N's. Well, at least not all at once. She will be driving it more than me till I go back to work.[sm=bicker.gif]

THANKS,
Steve

Ya, I think your being a little paranoid.
If people want something bad enough they will take it no matter what you do.
There is NOTHING stopping someone from just walking off with your whole tailgate!

Well now, you got me paranoid. I did not know that Wal-Mart is where all the Desperados hang out. But to keep them from taking your tailgate is an easy fix. See my pictures. Use a 2†hose clamp to encapsulate the lift out side hinge of the tailgate. The hex head screw on the hose clamp can be tighten tight from below with the tailgate closed. Now the average desperado may not have the time or tools to remove your tailgate. If you would like additional protection add a pop in lock to your existing handle. But as you say, nothing is safe. We can only hope to make their lively hood not so easy.

^ I love that theft deterant with the tailgate!!!

anways... get the K&N, and dont worry about your gas cap door, but you could get some extra strength glue and put it on the screws(epoxy or maybe gorilla glue) so they think it is a stuck screw and not that you tried to stop them. So they will give up and move on to the next one

If you're feeling paranoid, do what I try to do - Always park next to a nicer truck. Maybe the truck-theif-wanna-be will leave your's alone.
