I just got a new 2006 dakota slt with the 4.7. what is the round thing on the key chain? it looks like it should plug in somewhere.

Are you talking the thing at the bottom of the key fob?

If so.... my sister has a Jeep Liberty, and that is where the rear hatch window opener thing is.

 

Oh wait.... n/m I see what you mean.... I think it's an adaptor for the AUX on ur head unit? Try fitting it in there if you have an 06... there should be a small plug on the lower left hand side... check it out.

 

its too big. I saw that spot. it has like an led light on one end. you remember the big sterio plugs for head phones? the really big ones? that is about the size of it.

 

weird...did you get the secuirity system where you need to press a button or need to be within a certain radius of the truck to start it? I got a system like that when I bought the truck, but the one the Dodge dealer gave me is a square with a button and red LED on it...

 

as far as I know It dont have the security system on it. my mom is the one who bought it for me. today is my 20th b-day. she dont remember about a security system. The truck turns on fine with just the key. I dont know what that thing is. At first I thought it might be something like how some vehicles have the driver memory for seat position and what not but I cant find anywhere for this to go.

 

thats for the dealership to pull keys out for their cars.
