Default Power window speed

I have a 2005 Dakota SLT+.

Is it just me or do the power windows seem kinda slow. It's not just mine. A guy I work with has a 2005 and his go the same speed up and down as mine.

Is there a way to change the speed setting on these?

No. Blame the genius engineers at Dodge. If this is the only issue you have with your truck I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Mine are kind of slow too. What I have a problem with is the stupid horn buttons molded into the steering wheel-hit or miss, mostly miss.

talk to your dealer about the slow windows. they came out with new brackets that are more forgiving and your window speed is a lot faster. as afr as the horn goes. i put a train horn on my dak and it blows everything away. kinda costly with the compressor and all but what a noise.

mine are SUPER SLOW too....bugs me sometimes when i've rolled it all the way down and trying to take all 4 windows back up...I don't know how the motor exactly works for it, but I would think gearing it differently so that it goes faster at 12v would work..increasing voltage would make it go faster too, but burn it out faster as well =/...I wonder if you can take power window motors from other cars and rig them for the dakota...i'd do that...

a train horn??! i saw one of those for like $250...by the way, superdak, where is the circuit for the horn located? I want to put an rig horn (train horns are illegal where i live) on my dak but have it only replace the original one. thanks!

My wife's Ion and my 1993 Olds Delta 88 have a faster window speed! So far that is the only disappointing issue with my Dakota. At least they haven't been any slower since I bought the truck over a year ago.

I read that there's a TSB regarding the power windows....No mention however of a fix. At least Dodge seems aware of the prob.

Just brought mine in to have this issue looked at. They're ordering the necessary parts to make the windows move at a normal speed. Their version of the TSB for this problem tells them to just replace the defective parts "if the customer complains about it". Parts should be in sometime next week, I'll let you all know if this fixes it.

If you're having this problem there is a fix out there.

I finally got around to having the dealer replace the TSB specified parts. They replaced the hardware in the door on all 4 doors. The fronts move much faster now. The rear windows were still running slow (especially on cold mornings). New motors were ordered for the rears and now they are moving twice as fast as before. The overall speed of the windows is very much improved.

Anyone get the line from the dealer about window tint making them move slower? That was the answer to mine, I guess it better than the "could not reproduce" answer.
