I am looking for the AM/FM/CD/Cassette OEM radio for a 2005/06 Dakota. I do not need the amplifier. To replace existing AM/FM/6-CD unit in my truck, would consider a trade.

Additional info: 2005/06 Durango & full size Ram series will work.

My wife & I travel a lot and listen to books on tape and have a large amount that we have not heard.

Or if happen to know where an unit is, please advise.

was there even a Cassette model for the 05/06 dak?
I bought the base model and it didnt come with one...I dont believe they even made one...i think you might have to buy an aftermarket head unit to get cassette functionality

 

I think they come with am/fm/cd standard for 05,, 06 they came with a jack on the front for an MP3 player or whatever, you might find one of those, buy a cheap personal cassette stereo and plug that in to it.

 

And if you wanna buy the headunit with the AUX in I can sell you mine.

I might be interested Frenchy,is it the base radio,I mean it didn't come with a factory amp or anything,My 03 Chevy I bought a used factory am/fm/cd found out it was setup for like a deluxe stereo with factory amp you could crank full tilt and barely hear it,I think they turn em down for the factory amps.

The AM/FM/CD/Cassette was not available in Dakota, but was option on Durange & full size RAM

Is your head unit the AM/FM/CD/Cassette?
By head unit do you mean the complete control head that bolts into the center console, less the amplifier, extends thru and underneath the bezel that attach to the system wiring harness on backside?
If so, what would you take for it?

There was no cassette player EVER in any Dakota I have seen 05+...

And ya, its the base model, CD/FM/AUX.

I have seen them sell on eBay for 75 dollars... So I am asking $70 + shipping.

Yea Cody thats a headunit the part with volume and tune controls,I'm not sure but I don't think the Dakota came with a cassette option,I've seen auto makers over the years offer like a add on cassette it wasn't built into the head but mounted in another slot below the headunit and played thru it.You might check eBay,the first thing a lot of people do to their new vehicle is rip the stock radio out.It may be easier to go aftermarket and replace the radio,Crutchfield will tell what fits and what doesn't plus if you purchase a radio from them it comes with vehicle specific instructions and everything you need to install it, adaptors and factory plugs so you don't have to butcher the vehicles wiring,when you sell your vehicle you can just plug the stock radio back up.If you have factory satelite radio, nav system or that handsfree blutooth telephone setup that complicates the problem with going aftermarket.
