I want one of the plugs, I think I will pick one up now that I know the part number. Thanks...

I average around 10K for an oil change, have ever since 1996. My uncle is a GM Goodwrench Master Tech and advised this, never any probs.

If you have one of those plugs, DAK must be easiest vehicle to change oil in, like ever. Oil filter is soooo easy and placed well. (wish I could say the same about the oil pan.. lol

Actually its the other way around. The corperate peeps are going to tell you go 7,8,9 or 10k.
Its the people in the real world that push for the 3k LOF.
I certainly wouldnt go much beyond that.
I have plenty of friends who change oil @ 3K w/ mobil1 and oil looks brand new. I have considered taking their 3K waste and using it.. lol

Depends on which "corporate peeps" you're talking about. Obviously the car manufacturers are going to push a longer drain interval because it might cause the engines to wear out earlier than otherwise.

However, the motor oil companies are going to want you to go on a 3k interval because they'll sell you twice the oil at that interval vs. a longer factory interval.

From what I've read on some motor oil related forums (google "bob" and "oil guy" if you want to find it), a 5k interval is eminently reasonable with modern SM oils based on used oil analysis and the specs used to test the oils.
