I would double check gear box mounts but movement is normal. My Dak is an automatic but I noticed my 330ci BMW 5 speed has a cerint amount of movement, doesnt throw my hand but feel ir as the engine moves on its mounts is shakes the gearbox as well. There has to be a certain amount of flex in there.
Yeah, its probably normal. My old 01 golf was a 5 speed, and vibrated during exceleration. I usually keps my hand on the stick during excelleration, but that was a 2.0. Im sure your dakota, having a bigger engine would probably vibrate significantly more.
Welcome to the beauty of RWD manuals, and no linkage systems. :-)
They don't have the cables to hold em, the shifter is directly attached to the tranny, and the tranny shakes, now on FWD cars, there is linkage between the shifter and the transmission. ;-)
