Well one thing I can say positive about the 4.7 is it gets decent mileage for a heavy truck, I avged 19.5 on my last fill up. That's about the only good thing I can say about the motor, it is weak, I can't even drive up any sort of incline without dropping down a gear otherwise it loses about 10 mph, this is unloaded with just me in the truck! Ridiculous, I couldn't even imagine trying to tow anything on the Interstate around here because you would get run over by the truckers. I'm seriously thinking about going back to the Titan, it squeeked and had horrible quality but at least it went when you mashed the pedal. The Dakota rides great and is very comfortable but the performance or lack there of is horrible. I just wish I would have test driven the truck on any sort of incline so I would have noticed this before buying. I had driven an older model 02-03 and they moved out pretty good but this new model is a dog. I gaurantee they will have to put some more power in this thing or they aren't gonna be selling many. Just looking at the exhaust tells me a lot, they have liked 2 or 3 resonators and probably 2 mufflers and whatever else they could think to choke it down.
