could anyone help me with how to relocate the IAT sensor on the 05 dakota? i dont know where it is or where to put it on my intake tube (i have K&N cold air)
thanx a lot
your iat sensor will be either on your stock intake tubing (it should have a black and a white wire), or on the intake tubing side of your throttle body.
simple. if you changed your intake out than you had to change your iat out. its the sensor that sits in the tube in frt of the tb. simply remove the sensor, drill a pilot hole in the intake tube. becarefull cause it is plastic and might crack. than use the next size drill bit up untill you have the correct size hole. normally relocating the sensor about 8 to 10 inches down the tube towards the filter. you will need 8 to 10 inches of 16 guage wire, found at the local hardware store, some electricall tape, and wire connectors. simply cut and splice new wires into sensor clip and install into intake tube. this mod works great with a 180 stat. you will need to put a plastic plug in the hole already made from the factoey, another part at the local hardware store
oh thanx a lot...i wish i'd been told that a long time ago... that makes everything much easier. i thought that was called the oxygen sensor or something.
o2 sensor in a part of your exhaust system. i forgot to mention before that you will want to keep the iat sensor the exact same distance away from the throttle body as it is stock.
