RE: Tannau Cover 2005
ptschett I have a buddy that has the type your talking about on his S10,all the ones I looked at that rolled up , mounted inside the bed rails mine sets atop of the rails,I do some delivery work on a occasion,I didn't like the ideal of someone sliding a pallet in back of my truck and tearing up the frame of my tonneau, with my frame setting on top of the bed rails thats alot harder to do plus expense was part of my decision to, the roll ups I looked at were a $150 to $200 more than I paid, but to each his own, there's plenty of different setups from vinyl, plastic and fiberglass, roll up, trifold or hinged.

Thanks for the input. Looking for a hard cover as I do like the ability to lock stuff in the back. The drawback is cannot put anything tall into the bed. I am going to look at a couple today to see.
I like the idea of the roll up cover, any links to those?
Thanks for the info folks

I can lock my soft tonneu cover as well. It's got sliders on the side that lock it under the rails it rolls up on. The only thing bad about it is you have to buy a poplock tailgate handle to make it fully effective (so as nobody can open your tailgate or roll up your cover, but they are cheap. I have an Access rollup cover as well, and IMO its the best soft-cover out there.

Just checked the prices. For the ARE LSII cover (locking fiberglass, painted to match) will run approx $842. ARE does have a $100 rebate now ($25 instant and $75 mail in) for these covers. http://www.4are.com.
I am leaning towards that one. I still am not sure if I should Line-X prior to instaling or just stick with the Dodge liner.

Yea I' don't know about a locking soft tonneau,They want to see whats inside I'd rather they opened it up than rip it.I do have a Pop n Lock but that's to keep sombody from walking off with my tailgate.I'd love to have a color matched fiberglass tonneau, I use my bed often it would be a pain messing with it.

Just got the tanua cover installed...ARE LSII, fiberglass, looks great! There was a small (and I man small scratch less than a 1/4 inch on it). They dropped $50 off the price, with the $25 intant rebate and the $75 mail in from ARE, the thing will be well under $800. Not bad for this thing. The underside is lined with a felt like material, dual gas scissor hinges and is moulded to match the body lines on he hood.

I have the Extang Tri-Fecta cover and cannot say a bad thing about it. It simply mounts on the truck with hand-tightened clamps toward the front of the bed, and it has these spring-loaded clips that attach to the rear of the bed. It's all self contained, no bows or bars or screwing stuff in or nothing. I also bought the PopLock tailgate lock for 20 bucks or something like that. Its an aftermarket tailgate lock that installs really easy. I read about the Trifecta from somebody else on this message board, about how much they love it. So I bought one, and I love it.
