Default XM Satellite into stock 05 radio?

I saw where a lot of 05 owners have their Xm satellite hooked into the stock radio, is there a simple input in the back of the radio or do I have to get a special adapter? I have the Xm roadie that a lot of you have and I have the auxillary plug for it I just needed to know if I could just plug it into the back of the radio? Once you get it plugged in can you still use the radio or is it just the Xm? My Titan had the auxillary input in the center dash so it was simple. If that's all I need to do, any suggestions on the easiest way to get to the radio without breaking trim parts? I haven't ever touched this radio so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'll sell you my 06 head unit. It has an AUX input on it. :-)

I have the 6 disc with steering wheel controls, I looked into doing this a few months back but don't want to loose my wheel controls or 6 disc changer. Thanks though!

I think PIE is coming out with a cable to allow an AUX input on our radios soon
http://www.pie.net/
Im not sure if its compatible with the radios that have disc changers though

Is there any other info on installing an XM Radio wth the 2006 6-disc/nav radio? My subscrition for the Sirius ends soon and would rather have XM. Thanks for any input.

I have the SKYFI2 hooked up to my 05.

You need to purchase a Delphi's SA10112 FM modulator and two antenna adaptors to make the thing work. I bought it all from Crutchfield. What the modulator does is block the signal from the antenna when you use your XM. If you want to listen to the radio, all you have to do is turn off your XM.

Ran the antenna through the third brake light, had to remove the plastic clothing hook and with my Dremel rounded off one of the corners in the sheet metal. Ran the antenna wire to the rear passenger door and then along the rubber gasket andpillar to the front ofthe truck and behind thefoot controls.

Taking off the fascia waseasy to do with a plastic spatula andI used a Bracketron (DOD-202-05) bracket to hold it all in place. I like this bracket better than others I saw because it sits between the radio and the mounting frame and uses the radio screws to hold it in place.

Dak-in-black,

Do you have pictures of your setup? Especially the antenna?

I have mine routed out the passenger door (of the Quad) and above the door, but the antenna has a major pinch in it and I'm afraid it will soon be cut by the door open/close cycles...

Also, does anyone have pics of the OEM add-on antenna setup? I honestly have not seen an OEM radio setup yet...

Thanks!
