auto dim mirror with temp and direction
I think Skinsfan means the aftermarket type - like a Gentex universal.
I'd like to know too - especially if it's easier to do that than mess with trying to get an overhead console installed (for those of us without that option)

Cheaper way is to hit a junkyard and look for GM fullsize trucks/large SUV's and vans from 95-00. Those temp/compass/auto dim mrearview mirrors are simple to hookup (3 wire, 4 if you get the one with temp. They will fit Dodges rearview mirror mounts.
sounds like a pain in the rear to run wires and get working. Think I will just open the window for the temp and follow the road signs for the direction......
thanks for the input though

RP, do you know if the GM ones came with Homlink as well?
Ive tried pricing those out - for $250 I'll pass. However, for a junkyard price (or ebay used) I would be interested!
I need the homelink since my garage door opener only came with 1 remote!

Unsure about Homelink. When we built conversions the new overheads we put in had it. Mirrors didnt. I'm sure the new overheads on 800 series trucks (2000-06 full size SUV's) have factory overheads with Homelink.
my o5 dak has the homelink, what a life saver. never having to change that 9 volt battery. never looking for the controller in the night after it fell on the floor. not worrying about someone breaking into the vechicle while you are out and stealing it to get into your house.
