Default update pic's 06 lowered

My Dak started out as a plain jane with roll up windows and steel 16" wheels. I bought it that way because of the price. It is the Black Pearl paint. This week I got it pin stripped with some 3M metalic red opal. What a way to breakup all that black! The metalic in the pin stripe is the same size as the black pearl. I also made an intake pipe from the airbox to the throttle body opening with black abs plastic pipe and fittings. I plan on getting a K&N for the box and running more abs from the box to the fenderwell opening. I took off the dakota emblem on the tailgate and have something special in mind for that spot. I will update with a picture when done.

Your truck looks GREAT!

Why do you think Dodge doesnt do the air intake? From all I have read it works. Im happy with mine. Just wonder why Dodge doesnt Dodge make it a factory job.

How hard was it to take off the DAKOTA on the back and how did you do it?

I am test driving a 2006 Dak Quad Cab 3.7. I like the truck but it will definately need some minor additions/mods.

It was not as easy as I thought. My truck is not that old. I used a blow dryer to warm it up. Even with heat it was hard to pull off. Most of the foam adhesive stayed on the tailgate. I used goo gone and just kept working it into the foam until it was gone.

Your pin striping... is it painted on? Or is it a vinyl decal?

It is 3M pin stripe on a roll. The shop that did it says it's the best for staying stuck. He had to order it from one of his suppliers.

theres a decal & adhesive remover made by a company called "Klean-Strip", you can pick it up at any auto parts store i think, i got mine from O'Reilys. all you do is spray it on behind the emblem/decal and let it sit for about 5 minutes and it disolves any adhesive real quick. you may also wanna get a plastic scraper from a hardware store for a little help getting behind the emblem. stuff is very good and won't hurt your paint i assure you, i've used it a few times. take it easy.

the other thing people use is fishing line. just move it back and fourth to break away the emblem, than use wd 40 to loosen up the adhesive
