Default headers

well im torn between getting headers and cams. i dont know if i should do 206 or HO cams and i dont know where to get them either....and with headers i know i want gibson...but i still dont understand why ceramic is over 200 dollars more than stainless steel. is it relly worth it for their so called 'cooler' affect compared to stainless steel? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, for i have money to spend.

on headers the coating keeps them looking good over time also.

im not worried about looks under the hood. when it comes down to it...am i gonna get good performance out of stainless steel...compared to ceramic does it make the much of a difference in performance? as long as they dont wear out in 5 years or hurt performance i'd like to get them.

the main difference between the ceramic coating and stainless, besides the visual difference (over time the stainless will show wear more considerably than the coated) the ceramic coated headers keep your engine bay cooler than the stainless. if you are running your intake inside the engine compartment, i would go with the ceramic. if looks arent a big thing for you and you are running a CAI, i would use the stainless.

i did not even bother with the headers. the way manifolds are designed these days they flow just as good. and the 4/5 hour install time, forget it. if you go with the ho cams be ready to spend a little bit of money, you will need the cams, manifold and other stuff. i went with the direct 206 drop ins. with the pcm flash, from krc performance. but before you go out and buy the stuff you want , make sure you find a reputable shop that can do the work. cam install about 350/400 dollars. on top of the asking price for the cams 750.00 but it is worth it in the end. next investment will be to upgrade my injectors

superdak ive heard that before and im sorry but its bs. theres a picture of the stock openings and the gibson openings and its is wayy different. the dynos and the peeple ive talked to just dont match up to that 'stock is free flowing' junk ive seen. and yah i was excited to get some cams till i saw it was 750...i havta wait till fricken march to purchase them so i will have the money... so for now headers is all i can do... and i still dont know what the intake manifold upgrade is...and where to flash my PCM?

the only reason the cams are so much is because there are two instead of one. and yes i saw the pics of the headers. if you want your pcm flashed you are gonna half to take the truck off the raod for awhile. you need tosend out your pcm to the manufacture of the cams and they do the flashing. if you go with the 206 cams they are a direct bolt in, if you get the ho cams than you need the ho manifold to get the most out of them. krc performance has both of these set ups. let me know how the headers work out and if they are worth the cash?
