Default Gas mileage

First full tank....2005 Dakota Quad cab, 4.7L V8 Magnum, 15.3 MPG mostly around town. Puiing a tanau cover on tomorrow-may get 1 MPG more. Other Dak owners-this about right?

yes, the stop and go traffic will kill you, get the truck up on the highway at 65. hit the cruse and reset your console and see how it does should read around 22/23

V8 Quad w/tonneau

When I first got the truck, the computer was pegged at 16.2 mpg mostly around town. 1 year later I only get ~11-12 mpg around town.

hell, i'm lucky to pull 12-13 MPG around town. I have the K&N CAI along with a mostly unrestricted exhaust, BUT I live in Long Island - where every single MINUTE of every single DAY is stop and go!!!! Can you tell I need to move very soon?? Not really sure what I achieve on the highway, but I do notice that sometimes the gas I buy in Connecticut seems to last a bit longer than the gas I but in NY.
Now that gas is down around $2.25, it really doesn't bother me that I traded up from a 4 cyl.

Adding a cold air intake will also help your gas mileage I get about 1-2 mpg better since I added my K&N CAI. I now get 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.

I average about 17 mpg with mine. I have the V-8, with the 6sp. and 3.55 gears. I might get 14 mpg around town, but a lot of my driving is on the highway (almost all of it will be once I move) and I get 19+ on the highway. My truck has no mods yet, but I'm getting a topper soon and hopefully going to do some exhaust work.

Mine averages 17mpg consistantly, about 75% higway at 75mph. Only 3750mi so far - hoping it improves a little with age and a tonneau.

I did have one trip over 18 about 1000 miles ago, 100% highway at 75mph.

06 QC 4x2 with 4.7 auto and 3.55 rear
